In honor of National Veterans and Military Families Month, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort presented a generous donation of more than $13,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project. The donation was made during the closing of the resort’s 15th annual Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic, a signature event benefiting various charitable causes.
Sean Verney, Area General Manager of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, officially presented the check to Lily Adix, Community Fundraising Specialist from the Wounded Warrior Project. The donation, raised from proceeds of the event, underscores the resort’s ongoing commitment to supporting veterans and giving back to the community.
Founded in 2003 and based in Jacksonville, Florida, the Wounded Warrior Project supports veterans who served in the military after September 11, 2001, and who have incurred physical or mental injuries as a result of their service. The nonprofit organization offers a range of free programs and services, including mental health support, career counseling, and long-term rehabilitative care, to help wounded veterans transition to civilian life.
The Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic is one of several initiatives the resort organizes to support meaningful causes, ensuring that the legacy of service and sacrifice is recognized and honored.
“The support we’re receiving from the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic helps Wounded Warrior Project honor and empower warriors in their communities,” said Brea Kratzert Todd, Wounded Warrior Project vice president of business development. “Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, warriors and their families never pay a penny for our programs and services.”
