
Phu Quoc, Vietnam’s largest island, has emerged as a rising global tourism hotspot, welcoming an impressive 1.4 million visitors in the first two months of 2025. Of this total, international travelers made up 320,888 arrivals—a significant 52.7% increase compared to the same period last year. Foreign tourists alone accounted for nearly 30% of all international arrivals to the island so far this year.
This tropical paradise, recently crowned the second most stunning island on the planet by Travel + Leisure magazine—just behind the Maldives—is experiencing a remarkable tourism boom.
Travel booking platform Agoda reports that Phu Quoc has become the top choice among international travelers in 2025, with accommodation search volumes skyrocketing by 266% compared to the previous year, reflecting a sharp surge in global interest.
Adding to the island’s fame, several Asian celebrities have been spotted vacationing in Phu Quoc lately, including renowned Chinese actor and martial arts icon Vincent Zhao, helping boost the island’s image as a glamorous travel destination.
With momentum building, Phu Quoc has set its sights on hosting 7 million tourists throughout 2025, aiming to attract at least 1 million visitors from overseas.
Previously, the island gained global recognition when readers of Travel + Leisure ranked it the second most beautiful island in the world, further cementing its reputation as a must-visit destination.
