
Between January and October 2024, Uzbekistan welcomed around 6.5 million international tourists, as reported by local media on Saturday. The data, provided by the country’s statistics agency, highlights a remarkable surge in tourism compared to previous years.
The number of foreign visitors rose by 951,300, reflecting a significant 17.2 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023. This growth underscores Uzbekistan’s rising prominence as a travel destination, fueled by its unique blend of cultural heritage and modern attractions.
In terms of origin, the majority of tourists came from Tajikistan, with 1.878 million visitors recorded. China ranked seventh, contributing 57,700 travelers, a notable increase from the 42,000 Chinese tourists who visited in 2023, as per official statistics. These figures reflect the growing global interest in Uzbekistan’s rich history and vibrant culture.
