KLM is set to expand its intercontinental network this summer with the addition of three new destinations: San Diego (United States), Georgetown (Guyana), and Hyderabad (India). The airline will also continue servicing Portland (United States) after its introduction in the winter of 2024. Strengthening its long-haul operations, KLM is welcoming three new Boeing 787-10 aircraft, enhancing its intercontinental routes.
Increased Intercontinental Flight Frequencies
KLM is boosting service on several key intercontinental routes this summer. Flights to Kilimanjaro and Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) will now operate daily from June, up from five times per week in summer 2024—an increase of nearly 30% more seats. However, KLM will no longer serve Zanzibar (Tanzania).
In Asia, Osaka (Japan) will see up to five weekly flights starting in April, while in North America, Las Vegas (United States) will be served daily, up from five times per week in 2024. Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) remains a daily service, consistent with the winter schedule. Edmonton (Canada) will have five weekly flights, increasing to six during peak periods. Overall, KLM will operate 10% more flights to North America than last summer.
New European Destinations and Route Adjustments
KLM is also strengthening its European network with three new destinations: Ljubljana (Slovenia), Exeter (United Kingdom), and Biarritz (France). Additionally, KLM is consolidating its Milan operations at Linate Airport, which offers more convenient access to the city center, leading to the discontinuation of flights to Malpensa Airport.
The airline is accelerating the deployment of its new Airbus A321neo, doubling its fleet of this aircraft from five to ten during the summer.
Enhanced European Frequencies
KLM is increasing flight frequencies across Europe, providing greater connectivity:
- Belfast (United Kingdom): Twice daily
- Porto (Portugal): Four times daily
- Barcelona (Spain): One additional daily flight
- Split (Croatia): Two daily flights in spring and autumn
- Extra flights to Krakow and Poznan (Poland)
With these expansions, KLM will offer 25% more seats to Portugal and Croatia compared to summer 2024.
This expanded summer schedule reinforces KLM’s commitment to providing greater connectivity and enhanced travel options for passengers across both intercontinental and European routes.
