TRANSNUSA soars to new heights as the first Indonesian airline to launch scheduled flights from Bali, Indonesia to Guangzhou, China. In an exciting expansion, the airline also reveals its plans to introduce scheduled connecting flights from Guangzhou to Perth via Bali.

TransNusa Group Chief Executive Officer and aviation veteran, Datuk Bernard Francis said, “We are always looking at developing new routes to benefit our passengers. While traditional routes such as Bali to Perth and Bali to Guangzhou are important, we also strive to go the extra mile to provide fast as well as seamless connectivity to our passengers.

“With the launch of our new Bali-Guangzhou route, our passengers can now enjoy one of the fastest scheduled connecting flights to either Guangzhou or Perth via Bali, with a transit duration of either 1 hour and 30 minutes or 2 hours and 35 minutes, depending on the day and time of the scheduled flights.

“From April 13th to May 31st, on a weekly basis, there will be three connecting flights from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport to Perth International Airport, Australia while from Perth there will be two connecting flights weekly via Bali to Guangzhou,” Datuk Francis said, adding that connecting flight from Guangzhou will be every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday while the connecting flight from Perth to Guangzhou via Bali will be on Monday and Saturday.

In just the first quarter of 2025, the two-year-old airline has already shattered traditional norms by planning a groundbreaking 360-degree flight path from Guangzhou to Perth via Bali. This bold move marks a historic first and a significant strategic success for TransNusa since its re-launch as a Premium Service Carrier in October 2022.

Brief History of TransNusa

TransNusa, which ceased operations due to the Covid-19 pandemic, was revitalized with new shareholders and a management team in 2022. The airline resumed operations in October 2022, and by April 2023, it launched its first international route from Jakarta to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Under the leadership of Datuk Francis and the new management, TransNusa successfully expanded by launching three additional international routes by the end of 2023. In 2024, the airline continued to grow its international and domestic networks, achieving historical firsts in the Indonesian aviation industry.

Since April 2023, TransNusa has made headlines in Malaysia, Singapore, China, and globally as the first Indonesian airline to introduce a domestic route connecting Bali to the diving hotspot of Manado. Additionally, TransNusa became the second Indonesian airline approved to fly to China, offering more pricing and route options to China for Indonesians.

With its aggressive international expansion and strategic domestic operations, TransNusa has become the fastest-growing airline in Southeast Asia.
