A delegation of prominent French tour operators has been discovering the wonders of Northern Ireland, courtesy of Tourism Ireland and Tourism NI.
These tour operators play a crucial role in Tourism Ireland’s strategy, as they attract a significant number of French tourists to Northern Ireland annually. The goal of this familiarization trip is to showcase the region’s outstanding tourism offerings, particularly highlighting the growing range of sustainable tourism experiences available. This is an opportune moment to encourage the integration of new tourism products into their 2025 itineraries and beyond.
The group’s exhilarating itinerary featured a behind-the-scenes look at the cheesemaking process at Dart Mountain Cheese in the scenic Sperrin Mountains, a captivating sheepdog demonstration at Glenshane Country Farm, a delightful lunch at Broughgammon Farm in Ballycastle, and an insightful visit to the Peacemakers Museum in Derry-Londonderry. Additional highlights included a tour of Killeavy Castle Estate, a guided walking tour of Belfast with DC Tours, a trip to St George’s Market, and an exploration of J&J McConnell’s Distillery and Visitor Experience. They also ventured to Hillsborough Castle and Gardens, enjoyed the dramatic coastal views at The Gobbins, and marveled at the iconic Giant’s Causeway.
Ana Luis, Tourism Ireland’s Trade Partnership Manager France, said:“Working with the travel trade is an important element of Tourism Ireland’s promotional activity in France, so fact-finding visits for groups like this are really important. Seeing is believing – and our aim is to encourage them to extend the Northern Ireland content of their programmes, helping to secure a greater share of their business for Northern Ireland in 2025 and beyond.”
