SpiceJet announced on Friday that it has successfully renewed its IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification, a globally recognized standard for operational safety. This certification renewal will remain valid until March 2027.
The IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) is a comprehensive and globally recognized evaluation that assesses an airline’s operational management and control systems. It is administered by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to ensure that airlines meet high safety and operational standards. The audit focuses on areas such as operational procedures, emergency response protocols, and risk management strategies, with the goal of ensuring that airlines operate in the safest and most efficient manner possible.
SpiceJet underwent this rigorous IOSA audit in two distinct stages. The first stage involved a remote documentation review, where the airline submitted relevant operational data and documents to the auditors. This was followed by an on-site evaluation, which took place from December 9 to 12, 2024. During the on-site visit, the auditors performed a thorough examination of the airline’s processes, including reviewing its emergency response strategies and risk-based maturity framework.
A team of five international auditors conducted the detailed evaluation, bringing their expertise to carefully assess SpiceJet’s compliance with IATA’s stringent operational safety standards. Their evaluation of the airline’s internal procedures and systems helps to ensure that the airline operates at a globally recognized level of safety, operational efficiency, and risk management maturity. The successful completion of the IOSA audit is a significant milestone for SpiceJet, reinforcing its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of operational safety and quality.
