Singapore’s Changi Airport achieved remarkable milestones in 2024, handling 67.7 million passengers and reaching 99.1% of its pre-COVID-19 levels from 2019. This represents a significant 14.8% increase in passenger numbers compared to the previous year.
China became Changi Airport’s largest market in 2024, rising from sixth place in 2023. This growth was driven by the introduction of a 30-day mutual visa-free travel agreement between Singapore and China in early 2024, as well as frequent air services connecting the two nations.
Following China, the airport’s top markets by passenger traffic included Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, and Thailand. These destinations contributed to the robust recovery and growth of Changi’s operations.
Changi Airport was once again recognized for its excellence, earning the title of the world’s best airport in a global survey last year. The ranking assessed key factors such as connectivity, reliability, practicality, and passenger experience, solidifying Changi’s reputation as a leader among the world’s busiest airports.
Known for its state-of-the-art facilities, Changi continues to enhance the traveler experience with innovations like automated check-ins and biometric authentication. It has also set a new benchmark by becoming one of the first airports worldwide to offer passport-free immigration clearance across all terminals, allowing travelers to complete the process in just 10 seconds.
