Singapore’s tourism sector is recovering steadily, with inbound arrivals increasing by 12% in November 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, according to data from the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).
Tour operators and hostels are introducing innovative experiences to attract visitors and support sustainable growth.
Let’s Go Tour Singapore, supported by STB’s initiatives to promote heritage tourism, offers theatrical tours with actors as guides and off-the-beaten-path excursions like visits to Kampung Buangkok, Singapore’s last surviving village.
Monster Day Tours has incorporated augmented reality into their offerings, helping guides bring Singapore’s stories to life and enhance the experience for tourists.
Hostels like Betel Box Hostel in Joo Chiat and Jyu Capsule Hotel in Chinatown are also focusing on curated local experiences, such as free walking food tours and in-house events.
Betel Box reported full bookings during high-profile events like Taylor Swift and Coldplay’s concerts, while Jyu Capsule saw a 5% revenue boost during the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix.
Tourism operators emphasize the importance of diversifying their offerings beyond budget-conscious travelers. Their efforts align with STB’s goals of enhancing visitor experiences and promoting Singapore as a dynamic tourism destination.
