Silver Ray, Silversea’s latest addition, embarked on its inaugural Grand Voyage from Fort Lauderdale on January 20th, commencing a 71-day journey around South America. The voyage began with a unique culinary event showcasing South American dishes at the Bonnet House Museum & Gardens on January 19th.

Over the course of 71 days, guests aboard the Silver Ray will visit 38 unique and iconic destinations across 17 countries. The journey features passage through the Panama Canal and includes stops in major cities like Lima, Valparaiso, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, and Rio de Janeiro, as well as visits to natural marvels such as Chile’s fjords, the Garibaldi Glacier, and the Amazon Rainforest. The trip will include a special three-night stay in Rio de Janeiro during Carnival, known as the greatest show on earth. The voyage concludes on April 1, 2025, in Fort Lauderdale after exploring select Eastern Caribbean islands.
The Grand Voyage was launched with an exclusive event on January 19th at Bonnet House in Fort Lauderdale, where guests enjoyed cocktails and a South American-themed dinner featuring dishes like smoked butternut squash and sage soup, aji verde marinated beef tenderloin, and Chilean sea bass.
Additional unique events planned for the journey include a visit to the Kingston Family Winery in Chile on February 8th, experiencing Carnival in Rio de Janeiro on March 2nd and 3rd, and a special evening at St. Nicholas Abbey in Barbados on March 23rd.
Post South America circumnavigation, Silver Ray will join Silversea’s Caribbean fleet from March 23rd, participating in a series of voyages that highlight the cultural richness and natural beauty of the Caribbean.
Designed for diverse environments like the Chilean Fjords and the Amazon River, Silver Ray offers guests expansive views and a high level of personal service, with features like asymmetrical pool decks and a variety of dining and wellness options, including the S.A.L.T. culinary program. The onboard experience is further enhanced by shore excursions like eco-adventures in Ecuador, culinary tours in Chile, and gourmet journeys in Argentina.
