ShaoWei Ong brings over 22 years of invaluable experience in human resources leadership across multiple industries, including hospitality, banking, fintech, music, and engineering. Her vast expertise encompasses HR transformation, organizational redesign, culture development, leadership growth, and digital innovation. Her deep alignment with Mandarin Oriental’s strategic vision will be instrumental in enhancing the guest and colleague experience across its global portfolio.
A Distinguished Career Across Industries
Prior to joining Mandarin Oriental, ShaoWei served as the Group Human Resources Director at both Jardine Schindler and Livi Bank. Her previous roles include Vice President of HR for Sony Music Group in Asia and the Middle East, as well as Head of the Starwood Academy in Shanghai, where she contributed significantly to nurturing the next generation of hospitality leaders. ShaoWei has also held senior leadership positions at Secoo Group, Wyndham Hotel Group in Asia, and United Overseas Bank (Malaysia).

Educational Background and Location
ShaoWei holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Waterloo. She will be based at the Group’s Hong Kong headquarters.
