In a move to attract more Indian tourists, Selangor has introduced a special flight discount of up to 30% for travelers flying from India. This initiative is part of the Visit Selangor Year 2025 campaign, aiming to make the Malaysian state a top travel destination for Indian visitors.

The exclusive discount comes from a strategic partnership between Tourism Selangor and Batik Air Malaysia, formed during their participation in the Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) in Mumbai and a subsequent sales mission across Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Kochi from 28 January to 8 February 2025. This collaboration is set to strengthen air connectivity and accessibility for Indian travelers looking to explore Selangor’s attractions.

In addition to Batik Air Malaysia, prominent travel industry players such as GL Play by Gamuda Land and the Malaysian Indian Tour and Travel Association (MITTA) have joined forces to design tailor-made travel packages that will showcase Selangor’s rich cultural experiences, adventure activities, and leisure tourism.

According to Tourism Selangor CEO Chua Yee Ling, the state saw an impressive 54.13% growth in Indian tourist arrivals in 2024, with 1.13 million Indian visitors choosing Selangor as their destination. With this new initiative, the state aims to welcome 8 million tourists and generate RM11.7 billion in tourism revenue in 2025.

As Selangor gears up to offer Indian travelers an unforgettable holiday experience, this flight discount initiative is expected to boost Malaysia-India tourism ties, positioning Selangor as a leading destination for Indian tourists seeking a blend of modern attractions, natural beauty, and cultural heritage.
