Saudi Arabia’s national flag carrier, Saudia, has reported significant growth in 2024, as detailed in its latest performance report.

The airline achieved remarkable milestones in international traffic, operational efficiency, and digital transformation, reinforcing its commitment to connecting the world to the Kingdom and supporting Saudi Vision 2030’s objectives in tourism, entertainment, sports, and Hajj and Umrah.

Key Performance Highlights

Saudia carried 20 million international guests on scheduled and additional flights, marking a 16% increase compared to 2023.

Transit guest numbers also rose to over 9.3 million, reflecting an 18% annual growth. These figures underscore Saudia’s success in attracting global travelers to the Kingdom.

Overall, Saudia transported 35 million guests throughout 2024, achieving a 15% year-on-year increase.

The airline operated 193,000 flights, representing 10% growth, with flight hours exceeding 581,000—an 8.5% rise compared to 2023.

Saudia’s on-time performance improved significantly, reaching 89.1%, a 2.7% increase from the previous year.

Passenger satisfaction also saw notable progress, with the Net Promoter Score (NPS) climbing to 32.7, a 4.5% improvement, demonstrating enhanced service quality and guest experience.

His Excellency Eng. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, emphasized the airline’s dedication to operational excellence: “Operating in the competitive aviation industry demands a constantly evolving strategy.

Saudia has also made significant strides in digital transformation, with app usage increasing by 40% and a 324% growth in digital service adoption via the Government Digital Wallet (GovClick). These advancements reflect Saudia’s focus on providing seamless, tech-enabled experiences for its guests.

Fleet Expansion and Future Plans

Currently operating a fleet of 147 aircraft, Saudia is set to expand its operations further by adding 118 new aircraft in the coming years. This ambitious growth strategy aligns with Saudi Vision 2030’s goals of transforming the Kingdom into a global tourism and business hub.

Saudia plans to enhance its operational model, particularly during peak travel seasons, by increasing seat capacity, expanding its global network, and optimizing routes.
