The San Francisco Travel Association, the official destination marketing organization for the City and County of San Francisco, has appointed Anna Marie Presutti as its new president and CEO, effective immediately. Presutti had been serving as the association’s interim president and CEO since mid-May.

In her new role, Presutti will lead one of the nation’s oldest and largest membership-based tourism organizations. San Francisco Travel is responsible for marketing and promoting the city globally, attracting conventions, meetings, and leisure travelers. Tourism remains a key industry in San Francisco, contributing significantly to the city’s economy. In 2023, visitor spending reached $9.3 billion, generating nearly $610 million in tax revenues.

John Anderson, San Francisco Travel Board Chair, expressed confidence in the new appointment: “After a nationwide search, we found that the best candidate was already in the role. Anna Marie is a dedicated advocate for San Francisco and an experienced leader. As a two-time SF Travel Board Chair, she’s well-acquainted with the organization, its culture, and customers. Her leadership will continue to drive the promotion of this incredible destination.”

Presutti, a veteran of San Francisco’s tourism industry with over two decades of experience, said, “I’m passionate about this city and excited for the opportunities ahead. As we move forward from challenging times, my focus will be on restoring the convention business to healthy levels, while also promoting the city’s strengths, such as its vibrant culinary scene and rich arts and culture. We’ll work closely with organizations like the Bay Area Host Committee to bring more world-class events to San Francisco.”
