Ryanair launches new summer routes from Greece to Sweden, expanding services following Sweden’s removal of the Aviation Tax, fueling growth for Summer 2025.

Ryanair has revealed three new routes from Greece to Sweden for Summer 2025, enhancing its service between the two countries. These routes include a weekly flight from Zakynthos to Stockholm Arlanda, and two weekly flights from Corfu and Thessaloniki to Gothenburg. This expansion comes in response to the Swedish Government’s decision to abolish the Aviation Tax, opening new growth opportunities for Ryanair in Stockholm and Gothenburg.

In line with its growth strategy, Ryanair is making significant investments in its fleet. The airline is spending $22 billion on 210 new Boeing 737-8200 ‘Gamechanger’ aircraft, which will accommodate 4% more passengers while reducing fuel consumption by 16% and noise emissions by 40%. These new planes will be a pivotal part of Ryanair’s fleet as it expands services.

Looking ahead, Ryanair has plans for even greater efficiency with the arrival of 300 Boeing 737-MAX 10 aircraft by 2034. These new planes will offer a 21% increase in passenger capacity, 20% lower fuel consumption, and 50% quieter operations compared to the current Boeing 737-NG fleet. This investment is expected to significantly enhance the airline’s sustainability efforts.

Ryanair’s focus on modernizing its fleet aligns with its commitment to providing efficient and eco-friendly air travel. By upgrading its aircraft, the airline is positioning itself to meet future demands while reducing its environmental impact, all while offering more route options for travelers across Europe.
