Rocky Mountaineer trains will make their debut at Denver Union Station, marking a thrilling new chapter in the company’s partnership to launch the 2025 season. This exciting development promises to boost the local economy, especially benefiting businesses in Denver’s vibrant LoDo district, as visitors shop, dine, and explore before and after their scenic train trips.
True to the Rocky Mountaineer tradition, the debut will be celebrated with a festive inaugural wave-off event at the station on April 9, where team members and partners will send off the first train of the season.
Denver Union Station, an iconic landmark in the heart of the Mile High City, offers a direct link to Denver International Airport and places guests just a short walk from local hotels. Visitors will also have easy access to LoDo’s bustling streets, unique shopping experiences, and a wide array of dining options.
Since its U.S. debut in 2021, Rocky Mountaineer has provided luxurious daylight train experiences, including the famous two-day Rockies to Red Rocks journey. This route, traveling from Denver to Moab, Utah, includes an overnight stop in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, allowing guests to take in breathtaking landscapes, from towering mountains to expansive canyons and red rock deserts, all viewed through the train’s signature glass-dome coaches.
The move to Denver Union Station enhances the guest experience by eliminating the need for motorcoach transfers, as passengers previously boarded the train from a remote rail siding outside the downtown area.
The 2025 operating season will run from April 9 to November 19, with two round-trip departures per week during peak months. Trains will depart at 9:00 am and return at 5:00 pm, operating from Track 5.
In addition to this milestone, Rocky Mountaineer recently announced the expansion of the Rockies to Red Rocks route to Salt Lake City, Utah, set to operate under the new Canyon Spirit brand starting in 2026.
