The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has announced the official opening of the Riyadh Metro’s “Qasr Al Hokm” station this morning, marking a significant milestone in enhancing the city’s public transport network. This new addition promises to offer residents and visitors improved connectivity and accessibility throughout Riyadh.
Located in the heart of Riyadh’s historic downtown, the station is surrounded by a vibrant cultural hub filled with museums, souks, and notable government landmarks. As one of the Riyadh Metro’s four iconic stations, Qasr Al Hokm showcases groundbreaking architectural features, including a striking steel canopy that links the station levels, channels natural daylight underground, and provides shade to the surrounding public spaces.
Designed with sustainability in mind, the station incorporates energy and water conservation strategies, daylight harvesting, and natural ventilation. Additionally, it includes a lush shaded garden, offering a relaxing space for passengers while they await their trains, creating an inviting environment that encourages social interaction.
Spanning 22,500 square meters and with seven underground levels reaching depths of 35 meters, Qasr Al Hokm serves both the Blue and Orange lines, making it a key part of the Riyadh Metro’s extensive Orange Line (Line 3). This line is the longest in the network, which features 176 kilometers of track across six lines and 85 stations, all operated using Unattended Train Operation (UTO) technology.
Since its launch on December 1, 2024, the Riyadh Metro has successfully served more than 18 million passengers across its six lines.
