Queen Alia International Airport

Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) has recorded its highest-ever passenger traffic for February, with 726,635 passengers (PAX) passing through the terminal. This impressive figure marks a 7.4% increase compared to February 2024, showcasing the growing importance of QAIA as a key regional air travel hub. Additionally, the airport recorded 5,724 aircraft movements (ACM), reflecting a 6.1% increase in aviation activity, while cargo handling showed a slight decline of 23.5%, totaling 5,029 tons of goods.

The record-breaking February traffic comes as part of a broader growth trend at Queen Alia International Airport, which has seen significant improvements in passenger numbers year-to-date. The airport has registered a 10.2% increase in passenger traffic, with 1,511,627 passengers recorded from January to February 2025, compared to the same period in 2024. Furthermore, aircraft movements reached 11,785, up 5.6%, while cargo handling totaled 9,970 tons, down 23.2% from the previous year.

Building Global Connectivity and Expanding Network

The record numbers come as QAIA continues to strengthen its position as Jordan’s primary gateway to the world. The recent addition of Libyan Wings to the airport’s airline network is a notable milestone, enhancing QAIA’s connectivity to more destinations across the globe. This expansion reflects the airport’s efforts to meet the rising demand for both passenger and cargo services, providing travelers with a more extensive range of flight options and reinforcing the airport’s critical role in regional and international aviation.

In a statement, Nicolas Deviller, CEO of Airport International Group, which operates Queen Alia International Airport, expressed his pride in the achievement. “This new record for February passenger traffic is not just a number; it reflects the trust and confidence of passengers from across the globe who choose QAIA as their gateway. We are also proud to see sustained growth in both passenger and aircraft movement figures, reinforcing our role as Jordan’s prime gateway to the world.”

Recognition for Excellence in Service

QAIA’s success extends beyond traffic numbers. The airport was recently recognized as the “Most Enjoyable Airport in the Middle East” for the second consecutive year by Airports Council International (ACI) World. This prestigious recognition is a testament to QAIA’s commitment to providing world-class services and a seamless travel experience. As the airport continues to expand its facilities and enhance services, it remains dedicated to ensuring that every passenger walking through its doors feels at home, further solidifying its status as a leading global aviation hub.

QAIA’s continued growth and commitment to excellence make it an essential player in the aviation sector, not only in Jordan but also within the broader Middle Eastern and global markets. As passenger numbers rise and new airline partnerships are forged, Queen Alia International Airport is poised for sustained success in the years to come.
