Porter Airlines is expanding its footprint in Atlantic Canada with the launch of new direct flights connecting Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Charlottetown Airport (YYG) and Deer Lake Regional Airport (YDF). These routes will take off in June 2025, further enhancing travel options between Ontario and Eastern Canada.
Service to Deer Lake begins on June 10, 2025, offering three roundtrip flights per week, while flights to Charlottetown commence on June 13, operating four times weekly. Both routes will be served by Porter’s state-of-the-art Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, accommodating 132 passengers in a comfortable, all-economy cabin.
These additions complement Porter’s existing network in Eastern Canada, which includes up to twice-daily year-round service between Ottawa and Charlottetown and summer seasonal flights between Halifax and Deer Lake, operated with the 78-seat De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft.
Passengers can look forward to a premium travel experience with Porter’s signature two-by-two seating layout—eliminating middle seats—along with complimentary high-speed streaming WiFi. The onboard experience is further elevated with free beer and wine served in glassware, as well as a curated selection of Canadian-inspired premium snacks.

“Porter has developed strong relationships with travellers in Atlantic Canada, who are benefitting from increased direct air service and connecting opportunities through our growing North American network,” said Andrew Pierce, vice president, network planning and reporting, Porter Airlines. “Now they have the opportunity to travel across the continent, all while enjoying Porter’s elevated economy experience.”
Travelers looking for a premium in-flight experience can opt for a PorterReserve fare, which includes freshly prepared meals, handcrafted cocktails, and extra legroom in the front section of the aircraft on flights exceeding two and a half hours. This fare also provides added flexibility with no change fees, priority check-in and security screening, along with an allowance for two checked bags.
For those who prefer a more personalized approach, the PorterClassic fare allows passengers to select individual upgrades, offering the freedom to tailor their journey to match their needs.
“Charlottetown Airport is excited to expand our service offerings with the addition of Porter Airlines jet service to Toronto Pearson, with connections to their growing network,” said Doug Newson, CEO, Charlottetown Airport. “This partnership will benefit Prince Edward Island residents and visitors alike, providing convenient access to explore our world-class tourism product during the peak summer season.”
“Deer Lake is pleased to welcome back Porter Airlines in 2025, and thrilled with the addition of direct service to Toronto Pearson. The Embraer E195-E2 will elevate air service into Western Newfoundland and Labrador, and offer passengers connections across Canada. More flights help support our award-winning tourism sector and grow business opportunities in our region, which had a very positive experience with Porter in 2024. I’m confident we will continue to successfully grow our partnership with this expanding service,” said Tammy Priddle, president and CEO, Deer Lake Regional Airport Authority Inc.
“We are pleased to see Porter Airlines is adding seasonal flights to Deer Lake and Charlottetown,” said Kurush Minocher, interim chief commercial officer, Toronto Pearson. “These new flights give Toronto Pearson a new level of connectivity to Atlantic Canada, enhancing travel options for our passengers.”
