Porter Airlines has announced a new strategic partnership with regional airline Pascan Aviation to enhance access to air travel across Eastern Canada.
The agreement, revealed on March 26, 2025, aims to expand travel options for passengers by connecting Porter’s extensive North American network with Pascan’s regional services in Québec and the Maritimes. This collaboration is designed to offer seamless connections and increase regional connectivity across Canada.
Pascan Aviation, established in 1999, is a regional carrier based in Longueuil, Quebec, with its operational base at Montreal-Metropolitan Airport (YHU).
The airline operates scheduled flights within Quebec and the Atlantic region of Canada, alongside charter services.
Pascan currently maintains a fleet of three BAe Jetstream 32 aircraft and two Saab SF340B turboprops, and services a variety of destinations, including Bonaventure, Gaspe, Halifax, Iles-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec City, St John, St Hubert, and Sydney-Cape Breton.
The partnership between Porter Airlines and Pascan will allow for year-round connections on cross-continental routes such as Vancouver to Sydney, Nova Scotia, and Orlando to Saint John, New Brunswick.
Other key routes include Sault Sainte Marie, Ontario, to Bonaventure, Quebec, and Gaspe, Quebec, to Timmins, Ontario.
The primary connecting airports for interline connections will be Halifax-Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) and Québec City-Jean Lesage International Airport (YBQ), with other hubs offering secondary connection options.
As part of this partnership, passengers will have access to more than 90 connecting routes, allowing for easier and more convenient travel between Pascan’s destinations in Eastern Canada and Porter’s extensive network across North America.
Current interline connections are already available through Halifax and Québec City.
This collaboration is set to improve travel options for both Porter and Pascan passengers, offering more flexibility and choice when traveling to and from the region.
Porter Airlines emphasized that this partnership represents the first step in expanding travel options for passengers, with further growth expected with the upcoming opening of a new terminal at Montreal-Metropolitan Airport.
The new terminal, scheduled to open soon, will allow both Porter and Pascan to operate flights from the conveniently located airport on Montreal’s South Shore, providing an additional hub for passengers to connect seamlessly across Canada and North America.
Edmond Eldebs, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Porter Airlines, noted, “This new partnership with Pascan will provide improved service and greater options for passengers traveling through Eastern Canada.
The forthcoming opening of the new terminal at Montreal-Metropolitan Airport will further strengthen our network and create new opportunities for seamless travel connections.”
Yani Gagnon, co-owner of Pascan Aviation, expressed excitement about the partnership, saying, “This collaboration, alongside the new terminal at Montréal Metropolitan Airport, will create a wealth of new opportunities for our shared customers. We’ve been anticipating this project since 2004, and it’s truly an exciting development for both airlines and travelers.”
