MSC Cruises, the third-largest cruise line globally, has revealed that Hollywood stars Drew Barrymore and Orlando Bloom will feature in its first-ever Big Game commercial. The 60-second ad spot will showcase MSC Cruises’ signature fusion of European elegance and American comfort, highlighting its soon-to-debut flagship, MSC World America.
Barrymore and Bloom Join Forces with MSC Cruises
As part of MSC Cruises’ ambitious push into the North American market, the family-owned company has enlisted the two A-list actors for its inaugural national advertising campaign. The ad will feature Barrymore and Bloom vacationing aboard MSC World America, giving viewers a glimpse of the ship’s luxurious offerings.
“I am so proud to work with MSC Cruises, which is a company that makes it possible for people and families to get to see the world,” shared Drew Barrymore, actress and host of The Drew Barrymore Show. “They take care of all the planning and make it beautiful and joyful! They are also helping to create incredible memories to last a lifetime. I’m so excited to partner with MSC Cruises on this most meaningful endeavor!”
Teaser: A Musical Getaway on MSC Cruises
In the teaser, Barrymore and Bloom are seen taking over the piano at the exclusive Top Sail Lounge in the MSC Yacht Club, the brand’s premium “ship-within-a-ship” offering. While Barrymore performs a lively rendition of “Holiday,” Bloom humorously provides his critique. The song doubles as the new campaign’s signature melody, setting the tone for a fun and stylish cruising experience.
The commercial, crafted by award-winning agency Highdive, emphasizes MSC Cruises’ unique appeal compared to other cruise options. It marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for the brand’s expansion in the U.S. market.
“This is my first Big Game commercial, and I’m flattered to partner with such a prestigious brand,” said Orlando Bloom, actor. “MSC World America is full of European style and is perfectly designed for immersive and enriching experiences at sea. I’m excited to share this elegant new ship on America’s biggest stage and I’m sure MSC World America will wow holidaymakers of all types—Americans and Europeans alike.”
A New Era for MSC Cruises in North America
MSC World America, the company’s largest ship designed for North American guests, will begin her maiden voyages from PortMiami on April 9, 2025. The ship will offer 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, all of which include a stop at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, MSC’s private island in The Bahamas. This exclusive destination features pristine white-sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and enhanced amenities debuting in 2025.
“The fun dynamic between Drew and Orlando in our Big Game commercial is a great representation of MSC World America—which combines European design and authentic experiences with everything Americans have come to expect from a cruise—to offer an unmatched vacation,” noted Suzanne Salas, EVP, Marketing, eCommerce & Sales, MSC Cruises USA. “We want to give America a glimpse of all the unique features our new ship has to offer, through Drew and Orlando’s eyes of course.”
