Fragrance Group and Global Premium Hotels plan to add 1,347 rooms with three new Singapore hotels by 2027, tapping into the travel boom and expanding their portfolio.

Fragrance Group and Global Premium Hotels—both owned by billionaire Koh Wee Meng—are set to expand their hotel portfolio significantly with plans to open three new properties in Singapore by 2027, aiming to capitalize on the booming travel industry.

These new developments will add 1,347 rooms to Koh’s holdings, bringing the total to 3,547 rooms spread across 28 hotels by 2027. The new hotels will be managed by Accor, a French hotel chain that has long partnered with Fragrance Group and Global Premium Hotels.

Among the new properties, Movenpick Singapore will be the largest, offering 808 rooms. Situated in Tanjong Pagar, near the Raffles Place business district, it will be the biggest Movenpick hotel in the Asia Pacific once it opens in 2027. Additionally, the same location will feature Movenpick Living Singapore, with 37 rooms designed for extended stays, catering to both business and leisure travelers.

Another project set to debut in late 2025 is a 502-room Handwritten Collection hotel on Waterloo Street, close to the popular Orchard Road shopping area. This will be the second property for the brand, following the launch of Hotel Faber Park Handwritten Collection last year.

Koh, with a current net worth of $1.6 billion, began his journey in the hotel industry in the mid-1990s by establishing his first Fragrance Hotel in Singapore’s red-light district at the age of 33. Today, the majority of his wealth remains tied to his hotel ventures across Singapore, Australia, and the U.K.
