Recognized as the longest-running and most prestigious honors in the travel industry, these awards are determined by votes from the publications’ discerning audiences.
This year’s recognition highlights Minor Hotels’ expanding footprint in key European destinations, with numerous iconic properties that have been lovingly restored by Anantara. Notably, the Anantara New York Palace Budapest Hotel, renowned for housing “the most beautiful café in the world,” soared 26 places to secure the #2 position among leading hotels in Central and Southern Europe. Similarly, the Anantara The Marker Dublin Hotel made a stellar debut at #3 in Ireland, while the Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky Amsterdam claimed the #6 spot in Amsterdam.
In Italy, the Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Hotel, situated above the ancient Baths of Diocletian, retained its esteemed position among Rome’s top hotels, moving up to #2, while the Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel, nestled in a 13th-century cliffside Capuchin convent, was recognized at #13. Additionally, the Anantara Plaza Nice Hotel on the iconic Promenade des Anglais ranked #13 in the Rest of France category.
In Southern and Eastern Africa, the Royal Livingstone Victoria Falls Zambia Hotel by Anantara emerged as a top performer for Minor Hotels, achieving the #7 spot in its category. Central and Eastern Africa also celebrated success, with Elewana’s luxury safari lodges, Elewana Elsa’s Kopje Meru and Elewana Loisaba Tented Camp, earning accolades as the #12 and #15 winners, respectively. Furthermore, in the Rest of Africa, the Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort claimed the #12 spot in the US and #18 in the UK, while the Anantara Sahara Tozeur Resort & Villas was ranked #14.
The Middle East saw seven awards bestowed upon Anantara properties, both longstanding favorites and recent additions. The Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort was celebrated as one of Oman’s most breathtaking wilderness hotels, securing the #2 position. In the luxurious Indian Ocean category, four Anantara resorts shone brightly: Anantara Veli Maldives Resort at #4, Naladhu Private Island Maldives at #9, Niyama Private Islands Maldives at #17, and Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas at #20.
In Minor Hotels’ home market of Thailand, two standout properties made the top ten. The adventurous Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort was recognized at #4, while the newly launched family-friendly Anantara Koh Yao Yai Resort & Villas secured the #8 spot. Additionally, the Avani brand celebrated success, with Avani+ Khao Lak Resort making its mark at #11.
Further accolades were awarded in the rest of Asia, with two Vietnamese properties linked by the luxurious Vietage train: Anantara Quy Nhon Villas claimed #4 and Anantara Hoi An Resort, located in the UNESCO-protected old town, was recognized at #12.
