For the first time in history, efforts originating from the Middle East are underway to introduce Strongman as a new discipline on the world’s most prestigious sporting stage, with the ultimate goal of securing recognition at the Olympic Games. Leading this initiative, Vladimir Burdun, CEO of Emirates Sports Group and President of the World Strongman International Union, participated in the IF Forum 2024 at the invitation of the Alliance of Independent Recognized Sporting Members (AIMS).

Held from October 22 to 24 in Lausanne, Switzerland, this exclusive forum marked a significant milestone in Strongman’s journey toward international recognition. The event took place at the iconic Olympic Museum in Lausanne, a symbolic hub of global sports and the heart of the Olympic movement.

“Participation in the IF Forum 2024 is not only an opportunity for us to present Strongman as a fully-fledged international sport but also an important platform to strengthen ties with leading sports organizations worldwide. We believe that Strongman can take its rightful place among the Olympic sports, and this meeting brings us closer to that goal”, – said Vladimir Burdun, CEO of Emirates Sports Group and President of the World Strongman International Union.
