Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s global premium brand collection, has officially welcomed a landmark property in Downtown D.C. into its portfolio following a $15 million transformation. The newly renovated Le Méridien Madison, Washington, DC, completed in September, is owned by Crescent Real Estate and managed by HEI Hotels & Resorts.
The extensive redesign, crafted by Parker-Torres Design, breathes new life into the lobby, communal areas, and guestrooms, drawing inspiration from the Golden Age of travel while honoring Jackie Kennedy Onassis, who famously cut the ribbon at the hotel’s original opening in 1963. Throughout the lobby and hallways, nods to Jackie’s signature style—hats, dress silhouettes, iconic pearls, and patterned garments—are artfully integrated. The hotel’s color scheme of brick and basin is a tribute to the terra cotta rooftops of federal buildings and the Tidal Basin that connects the Potomac to the city.
The reimagined lobby now features striking arrival art that encapsulates Le Méridien’s brand essence. Each guestroom has been upgraded with new flooring, wallpaper, ceiling finishes, light fixtures, furnishings, and artwork, providing a fresh and modern guest experience.
“Our team is thrilled to welcome guests to the new Le Méridien Madison, Washington, DC,” says General Manager Hazel Hagans. “This property embodies the spirit of our nation’s capital, blending modern glamour with rich historical charm. Our team is dedicated to delivering an exceptional guest experience, and we look forward to continuing to be a vibrant part of the community.”
Le Méridien Madison, Washington, DC, has introduced a host of exciting new amenities as part of its integration into the Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts family. Embracing the vibrant art and culture of the D.C. community, the hotel has launched the Unlock Art Program, which offers guests complimentary access to local cultural institutions and museums, allowing them to explore the city’s rich artistic heritage.
At the heart of the hotel’s dining experience is Lady Madison, the signature restaurant and cocktail lounge, now offering a refreshed menu that blends Mediterranean flavors with beloved D.C. culinary traditions. Guests can indulge in handcrafted cocktails and creative dishes, while enjoying the hotel’s new Le Scoop by Le Méridien, serving gourmet gelatos and sorbets for a year-round dessert treat. Lady Madison also participates in the Le Méridien La Vie, Rosé + Petit Plates program, providing a curated selection of rosé wines—both still and sparkling—paired with expertly crafted small bites.
In a nod to D.C.’s history, the hotel will host special events inspired by iconic First Ladies, offering signature cocktails and themed bites that celebrate their legacy. Guests can sip on a classic Negroni, Jackie Kennedy’s favorite cocktail, or try Dolley Madison’s twist on a lemon drink, the Dolley’s Squeeze, paying homage to her legendary social gatherings.
Le Méridien Madison is part of Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott International’s award-winning travel program, giving members the opportunity to earn and redeem points at this stunning new property and across the brand’s vast portfolio. With the Marriott Bonvoy app, members can personalize their stay and enjoy contactless services for a seamless, stress-free experience.
To mark the hotel’s transformation, Le Méridien Madison is offering a limited-time “Le Méridien Moments” package, available through January 15, 2025. Guests can enjoy 20% off their room rate, a complimentary room upgrade, and a welcome amenity of Rosé for Two, paired with a Sweet Treat from Dog Tag Bakery, a local D.C. bakery dedicated to empowering veterans and military families as they reintegrate into civilian life.
