KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is set to elevate its intercontinental network this summer with the addition of three exciting new destinations: San Diego (United States), Georgetown (Guyana), and Hyderabad (India). The airline is also maintaining its service to Portland (United States), a destination that was first introduced during the winter season of 2024. To support this expansion, KLM will be welcoming three new Boeing 787-10 aircraft, boosting its capacity on intercontinental routes during the summer schedule.

Enhanced Connectivity and Increased Frequencies to Popular Destinations

KLM is not only expanding its network but also increasing frequencies to several popular intercontinental destinations this summer. Notable highlights include:

Kilimanjaro and Dar es Salaam (Tanzania): Daily combined flights starting June, up from five weekly flights in the summer of 2024, offering 30% more seats than the previous summer schedule.

Osaka (Japan): Up to five flights per week starting in April, catering to growing demand.

Las Vegas (United States): Daily flights throughout the summer, an increase from five weekly flights in 2024.

Rio de Janeiro (Brazil): Daily flights maintained throughout the summer, consistent with the winter schedule.

These strategic adjustments allow KLM to offer approximately 10% more flights to North America compared to the summer of 2024, supporting growing passenger demand across the Atlantic.

Network Adjustments and New Aircraft Deployments

In line with its evolving strategy, KLM will discontinue flights to Zanzibar (Tanzania) this summer, optimizing its African network. Additionally, the airline will double the deployment of its Airbus A321neo on European routes, increasing from five to ten aircraft during the summer season. This modern fleet addition promises enhanced comfort and fuel efficiency for passengers traveling within Europe.

Exeter (United Kingdom): Expanding KLM’s reach in the UK, catering to both leisure and business travelers.

Biarritz (France): A popular destination for its scenic coastline and cultural attractions.

In a strategic move to improve connectivity to Milan, KLM will consolidate its flights to Milan Linate Airport, which is more conveniently located near the city center, discontinuing services to Milan Malpensa Airport.

Frequency Increases Across Europe for Summer 2025

To meet rising demand, KLM is boosting frequencies to several European destinations, including:

Belfast (United Kingdom): Twice daily flights.

Porto (Portugal): Four daily flights, enhancing connectivity to this bustling Portuguese city.

Barcelona (Spain): An extra daily flight, catering to the growing popularity of this vibrant Spanish destination.

KLM’s summer schedule reflects its customer-centric approach to route planning, responding to passenger demand for greater connectivity and flexibility. By introducing new destinations, increasing frequencies, and optimizing its fleet with modern aircraft, KLM continues to enhance the travel experience for its global passengers.
