Karnataka Tourism will be proudly presenting its diverse tourism offerings at the JATA Tourism Expo Japan 2024, held from September 26 to 29 at Tokyo Big Sight. This platform will allow Karnataka to strengthen its presence in the Japanese tourism market and build stronger cultural and tourism ties between the two regions.

Karnataka, known for its harmonious blend of nature, heritage, and culture, offers travelers an array of experiences. From the scenic beauty of the Western Ghats, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to the royal grandeur of Mysore Palace, Karnataka is home to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Hampi’s ancient ruins, the architectural marvels of Pattadakal, and the recently recognized Hoysala temples in Belur, Halebid, and Somanathapur.

At the JATA Tourism Expo, Karnataka will promote key attractions such as the ancient temples of Belur and Halebidu, Mysore Palace, and the historical ruins of Hampi. The state’s natural beauty will also be highlighted, with its five national parks and over 25 wildlife sanctuaries, including Bandipur and Nagarhole, renowned for their wildlife conservation efforts. Additionally, the serene beaches of Gokarna, Murudeshwar, and Karwar, along with the tranquil backwaters of the Kabini River and the picturesque waterfalls of Coorg and Chikmagalur, will be showcased.

Karnataka’s role as a hub for wellness tourism will also be emphasized, with world-class resorts offering Ayurveda and yoga retreats. Spiritual and cultural travelers will find Karnataka’s Buddhist heritage sites, such as the ancient settlement at Sannati and the historical site of Banavasi, particularly captivating. These sites hold immense archaeological significance, with relics from the Mauryan period and Ashokan edicts contributing to the state’s rich Buddhist history.

Karnataka Tourism is committed to responsible tourism practices, with a focus on eco-friendly preservation of Buddhist sites and the promotion of Buddhist learning and meditation centers for international travelers.

Through its participation in the JATA Tourism Expo, Karnataka Tourism aims to attract Japanese travelers interested in spiritual, cultural, and adventure tourism while fostering partnerships with Japanese tour operators and media. The Karnataka Tourism delegation will be available at Stall No. R-141.
