International Air Transport Association (IATA) opens nominations for 2025 Diversity and Inclusion Awards, celebrating leaders in aviation.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has officially opened nominations for the sixth edition of the IATA Diversity and Inclusion Awards, inviting submissions from individuals and organizations that are championing diversity and inclusion in the aviation industry. These prestigious awards recognize significant contributions to fostering an inclusive environment within air transport, celebrating those who lead by example and inspire positive change.

Celebrating Leaders and Trailblazers in Aviation

The IATA Diversity and Inclusion Awards are designed to honor those making a substantial impact on diversity and inclusion within the aviation sector. This year, the awards will spotlight exceptional achievements in three key categories:

1. Inspirational Role Model Award

This category honors a woman in a senior leadership role within the aviation industry who has significantly influenced diversity and inclusion on a global scale. The award recognizes her leadership, vision, and advocacy in promoting a more inclusive culture within the aviation ecosystem.

2. High Flyer Award

This award celebrates a female aviation professional under the age of 40 who has shown remarkable leadership and made a tangible impact on diversity and inclusion in the industry. The recipient of this award exemplifies the power of young leadership in driving positive change and inspiring the next generation of aviation professionals.

3. Diversity & Inclusion Team Award

This category is dedicated to recognizing an airline that has achieved measurable success in enhancing diversity and inclusion within its organization. Open to all IATA member airlines, this award celebrates collaborative efforts that create a more inclusive workplace culture, setting a benchmark for the industry.

Winners of each category will receive a prize of USD 25,000, which can be awarded directly to the winner or donated to a charity of their choice that supports diversity and inclusion initiatives. • Mafunase Ngosa Malenga – Managing Director and Founder of the Southern Africa Institute for Aviation Science and Technology
• Jade Fisher-Ryner – Diversity and Inclusion Consultant at British Airways
