IndiGo appoints Isidro Porqueras as new COO, succeeding Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, to lead global expansion with 25+ years of industry experience.

IndiGo Airlines has announced the nomination of Isidro Porqueras as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO), set to replace Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, who will retire later this year. Porqueras’ appointment, effective November 1, is subject to regulatory approvals. With over 25 years of experience in operations, strategy, and finance, he has played a pivotal role in transformation initiatives since joining IndiGo as Chief of Transformation in April 2024. His past roles include COO at European airline Volotea and leadership positions at McKinsey and Uralita.

Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, who has been at the helm of IndiGo’s operations for the past seven years, leaves a lasting legacy. He joined the airline in 2018 after leading Go First as CEO and MD, and was instrumental in guiding IndiGo through a critical phase of operational expansion. Prock-Schauer’s tenure in India spans over 15 years, with key leadership roles, including more than six years as CEO of Jet Airways.

Under Prock-Schauer’s leadership, IndiGo has successfully strengthened its operations and expanded its market presence, particularly in the international sector. His deep operational expertise will ensure a smooth transition as Porqueras steps in to further elevate IndiGo’s strategic vision and business growth on a global scale.
