This week, Ireland is hosting fifteen leading inbound tour operators from around the globe, courtesy of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland. These operators are participating in a B2B workshop in Kilkenny, engaging with approximately 36 local tourism businesses to discuss future partnerships for 2025 and beyond.
Based primarily in London, these operators cater to a global clientele, drawing tourists from the United States, Europe, Asia, Australasia, and Africa. They are also embarking on a discovery tour to firsthand experience Ireland’s diverse and high-quality tourism offerings. Their busy schedule features unique activities like scone baking and sheep herding at the Ballyknocken Cookery School, House & Farm, and exploring Beyond the Trees Avondale and the Smithwick’s Experience in Kilkenny. Additionally, they are enjoying a Kilkenny city walking tour with Shenanigans Walks and visiting notable attractions in Kildare such as the Irish National Stud & Gardens, Newbridge Silverware, and Kildare Village.
These operators are crucial for Tourism Ireland, as they play a significant role in bringing about half a million visitors to Ireland annually from various parts of the world.
Aisling McDermott, Tourism Ireland’s Head of Global Partnerships, said: “Tourism Ireland is delighted to welcome these leading global inbound tour operators to Ireland’s Ancient East, to see and experience some of our many visitor attractions. Our aim is to inspire them to extend the Ireland content of their existing programmes and itineraries, or to include the island of Ireland for the first time in their programmes.”
