IHG Hotels & Resorts has appointed Yann Gillet as the new Area General Manager for both Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa and Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman. With over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Gillet is known for his strategic foresight, commitment to guest satisfaction, and his ability to elevate luxury properties globally.

Before joining IHG, Gillet was at One&Only Aesthesis on the Athens Riviera, where he played a pivotal role in establishing the resort’s ultra-luxury positioning. His prior experience includes leadership roles at renowned properties such as Hotel Martinez in Cannes, where he enhanced the hotel’s appeal as a prime European destination. Gillet’s career also includes key roles at Grand Hyatt São Paulo, Park Hyatt Chennai, Park Hyatt Johannesburg, and Hyatt Regency Casablanca, where he successfully implemented growth strategies, navigated market challenges, and created transformative guest experiences.

In his new role, Gillet will oversee operations at Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa and Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman, continuing to push the boundaries of luxury, lifestyle, and guest service at these sought-after Grand Cayman properties.

Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa, one of the few 10-star Forbes properties in Grand Cayman, continues to set new standards in Caribbean luxury. The resort earned the prestigious Forbes Five-Star designation for both the property and its Seafire Spa in 2025, marking the second consecutive year of this recognition. The resort is renowned for its exemplary service, breathtaking beachfront location, and unique guest experiences, including the celebrated Library by the Sea—a cocktail lounge inspired by literature. Ranked No. 35 on North America’s 50 Best Bars list and awarded the London Essence Best New Opening Award, Library by the Sea has redefined the hotel bar experience with its innovative mixology and intimate atmosphere.

Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman, which opened in 2024, brings a fresh, design-driven perspective to Grand Cayman’s iconic Seven Mile Beach. The hotel’s interiors, created by the award-winning firm Farouki Farouki, highlight the island’s natural beauty, maritime history, and dynamic arts scene, featuring custom artworks by local Caymanian and Caribbean artists. Hotel Indigo is also renowned for its culinary offerings, including Rasa, an immersive kitchen with a rotating global menu, and Pom Pom, a rooftop lounge serving South American-inspired small plates and inventive cocktails with panoramic sunset views.

“I’m truly honored to join Kimpton Seafire and Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman, two exceptional properties that redefine luxury and lifestyle hospitality,” said Gillet. “With their commitment to innovation and world-class service, I’m excited to work alongside their talented teams to continue enhancing the guest experience.”

A native of Bordeaux, France, Gillet holds a degree in Hospitality Management from the Paris Hotel School, a master’s in Hotel Administration from the Hotel Management School of Strasbourg, and an MBA-equivalent in Finance from Sorbonne University. An avid runner and triathlete, he enjoys outdoor adventures with his Beagle and is relocating to Grand Cayman with his wife, Lucile, as they embrace island life.
