Early estimates for the Lunar New Year indicate a resurgence in tourism, with a notable rise in international arrivals.

According to the Tourism Board, nearly 680,000 travelers visited Hong Kong between Tuesday and Friday, marking a 6% increase compared to the same period last year.

Over 560,000 visitors from the mainland arrived in Hong Kong during the initial four days of their eight-day Golden Week holiday.

Tourism officials anticipate a further influx of mainland travelers in the coming days, as many likely spent the earlier part of the holiday with their families before setting out to explore.

Approximately half of the inbound tourists opted for overnight stays, and hotel occupancy levels remained high, with most accommodations nearing full capacity.
