Hard Rock International is set to open its first hotel in Malta by 2026, part of a €300 million development in St. George’s Bay, featuring luxury rooms and entertainment.

Hard Rock International has begun construction on its latest European venture, the Hard Rock Hotel Malta, a 394-room property set to open in 2026. This exciting new addition will bring a dynamic edge to the island’s hospitality scene, blending Maltaaccommodations with the brand’s iconic flair. Located in the vibrant St. George’s Bay, this hotel will be a key part of a larger €300 million mixed-use development that promises to transform the area into a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists.

The wider development will span 20,000 sqm and feature an array of attractions, including a shopping mall, luxury residences, and a private members club. Guests and visitors will be able to enjoy 12 restaurants and bars, including a signature Hard Rock Cafe, along with convenient amenities like a supermarket, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a relaxing spa. In addition, the property will offer event spaces and a beach lido, making it a hub for both leisure and entertainment in Malta.

Developer db Group has emphasized that the Hard Rock Hotel Malta will honor the historic architecture of the original 1860 British military accommodation quarters. The preservation of this unique structure, integrated into the new hotel, will provide a blend of historical charm and modern luxury. Most rooms will feature balconies with stunning views of the Mediterranean, offering guests an unforgettable stay.

In recent years, Hard Rock International experienced a few setbacks in Europe, with the debranding of two high-profile properties. The 900-room Hard Rock Hotel London returned to its former identity as The Cumberland, while the Hard Rock Hotel Amsterdam American was rebranded as a Clayton property. Despite these challenges, the brand has continued to expand and innovate within the hospitality industry.

Hard Rock’s ongoing development includes the launch of a new hotel in Hamburg under its emerging REVERB brand, which focuses on music-inspired accommodations and modern design. Additionally, the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Athens is currently in progress, further demonstrating the company’s commitment to growth in Europe.

In response to evolving customer expectations, Hard Rock International introduced a revamped loyalty program earlier this year, covering its wide range of hotels, casinos, cafes, and retail outlets. The program, named Unity by Hard Rock, offers members the opportunity to earn and redeem Unity Points across the brand’s entire portfolio.

Members of the Unity by Hard Rock scheme can enjoy a variety of rewards, from free hotel stays and room upgrades to exclusive dining experiences. The program also extends to merchandise and casino play, making it a versatile loyalty initiative that caters to diverse customer preferences.

As Hard Rock International continues to expand globally, the launch of Hard Rock Hotel Malta in 2026 is set to further solidify the brand’s presence in Europe. Combining historical elements with modern luxury and a wide array of entertainment options, this hotel promises to be a standout destination in the Mediterranean.

With its commitment to preserving local heritage while offering cutting-edge amenities, Hard Rock Hotel Malta will likely become a significant player in Malta’s tourism sector, drawing visitors from around the world. The development highlights Hard Rock’s dedication to delivering unique and unforgettable experiences in every location they serve.
