Grove of Narberth earns the prestigious Michelin Key, solidifying its place among the UK’s top hotels for exceptional service, design, and guest experience.
Grove of Narberth has earned the prestigious One Key Distinction after being evaluated in five categories: architectural and interior design, quality and consistency of service, overall personality and character, value for money, and notable contribution to guest experience.
The Grove in Narberth, alongside Palé Hall in Bala and Penmaenuchaf in Dolgellau, proudly represents Wales in the Michelin Guide, being the only hotels in the country to be featured.
Grove of Narberth shared their excitement in a Facebook post, proudly announcing, “We are beyond thrilled to reveal that this morning, our cherished hotel has been honored with a Michelin Key.”This recognition represents a major milestone, as the Michelin Key is often regarded as the hotel industry’s counterpart to the Michelin Star.. While Michelin Stars spotlight the finest restaurants worldwide, the Michelin Key celebrates excellence in hotels.
Of the 123 keys awarded across the UK, only three went to Welsh hotels, with Grove being the sole recipient in South Wales. The 2024 Michelin Guide for Great Britain and Ireland includes 14 Three Key Hotels, 37 Two Key Hotels, and 72 One Key Hotels, with the Michelin Key representing the most exceptional experiences from their hotel selection.
Although every hotel in the Michelin Guide is eligible, only the most remarkable establishments earn the Michelin Key distinction. Hotels can also receive multiple keys based on their service level: one key represents a special stay, two keys denote an exceptional stay, and three keys highlight an extraordinary experience.
Interestingly, while Michelin Key hotels offer top-tier quality, they aren’t necessarily the most expensive. Among the 5,000 accommodations worldwide, there are options to suit a variety of preferences and budgets, spanning urban and rural settings, modern and traditional designs, and accommodations ranging from castles to tents or skyscrapers.
Moreover, the Michelin Key selection is uniquely independent from the restaurant awards. A hotel can receive a Michelin Key without having a Michelin Star restaurant, and vice versa, ensuring that each recognition is based on distinct merits.
