At the 2024 World Travel Market (WTM) in London, Goa Tourism significantly elevated its global profile by presenting its unique attractions and dedication to sustainable tourism. The event featured the launch of the Goa Tourism Pavilion, inaugurated by Mr. Vikram K. Doraiswami, India’s High Commissioner to the UK, along with Ms. Pravati Parida, Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, and Ms. Mugdha Sinha, Director General of the Ministry of Tourism. Led by Mr. Rohan Khaunte, Goa’s Tourism Minister, the pavilion hosted distinguished guests and tourism leaders.

The participation at WTM allowed Goa Tourism to highlight its rich cultural heritage and diverse tourism products under the themes of Regenerative Tourism and ‘Goa Beyond Beaches.’ Minister Rohan Khaunte emphasized Goa’s strategy for promoting environmentally responsible tourism and enriching visitor experiences.

The pavilion served as a vibrant showcase for Goa’s cultural and natural treasures. Key displays included the ancient Mahadeva Temple at Tambdi Surla, the Basilica of Bom Jesus, and the scenic Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary. Attendees were also treated to live cultural performances that brought to life Goa’s festive traditions, including Carnival and Shigmo.

This platform provided an opportunity for Goa Tourism to network with international tourism professionals, negotiate potential collaborations, and promote Goa as a premier year-round destination. The focus on sustainable practices highlighted Goa’s commitment to conserving its environment while inviting global travelers to explore its scenic beauty and cultural depth.

By actively engaging at WTM London, Goa Tourism reinforced its commitment to positioning itself as a leading sustainable travel destination, attracting tourists interested in an authentic and eco-conscious travel experience.
