Goa to Establish India’s Largest Hospitality Skilling Centre in Collaboration with Taj Group
Goa is set to become home to India’s largest hospitality skilling centre, following a partnership between the state government and the Taj Group. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced the initiative on Wednesday, highlighting its potential to create extensive employment opportunities for the state’s youth.
The Indian Hotels Company (Taj Group) and Goa’s Directorate of Skill Development have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bring this ambitious project to life. Sawant emphasized that the collaboration would significantly enhance skill development in the hospitality sector, reinforcing Goa’s reputation as a premier tourism and hospitality hub.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by key dignitaries, including Education Secretary Prasad Lolayekar, Director of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship S. S. Gaonkar, and IHCL’s Managing Director and CEO, Puneet Chhatwal. This initiative is expected to strengthen Goa’s workforce, equipping aspiring professionals with industry-leading training and employment prospects in India’s booming hospitality sector.
