Global communications firm FINN Partners has been appointed to manage the worldwide communications for the World Travel & Tourism Council’s (WTTC) new initiative, ‘Together in Travel.’ As part of this collaboration, FINN will oversee content creation, public relations, SEO, and digital advertising to support the launch of this innovative community platform, which will be introduced at the WTTC Global Summit in Perth this October.
The WTTC is a leading global organization that advocates for the growth of the travel and tourism sector. It collaborates with governments, industries, and communities to emphasize the economic significance of travel and tourism and to promote sustainable and inclusive practices. The ‘Together in Travel’ initiative focuses on empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that represent 80% of the global travel community.
This community aims to provide SMEs with the tools and content needed to accelerate business growth while ensuring their voices are heard on a global stage. The platform, free to subscribe with paid membership options to be rolled out later, will facilitate meaningful connections, offer valuable insights, and provide tailored learning programs to help SMEs thrive.
FINN Partners will execute a communications strategy involving its purpose and social impact teams, as well as its global travel teams. The goal is to position the ‘Together in Travel’ community as the go-to network for SMEs in both emerging and developed markets, with a focus on businesses at every stage of development—from startups to mature companies.
Julia Simpson, President & CEO of WTTC, expressed her excitement: “SMEs are the backbone of the global tourism industry, and their role in driving innovation and growth is undeniable. Through our partnership with FINN Partners, we aim to amplify the voices of SMEs and provide them with the support and visibility they need to succeed.”
Matthew Upchurch, Vice Chair of Membership at WTTC and Chairman & CEO of Virtuoso, also shared his enthusiasm: “The ‘Together in Travel’ initiative elevates our role as the voice for the private sector. I’m excited to witness the mutual value this community will bring to its members.”
Leading the project for FINN Partners is Debbie Flynn, Managing Partner and Global Travel Practice Leader. She stated, “We’re thrilled to be working alongside WTTC to lead the campaign that will empower SMEs and ensure sustainable growth and partnerships in the travel sector.”
The initiative will be spearheaded by a team of 10 professionals across multiple regions, including India, APAC, Europe, and the United States.
