European Sleeper

European Sleeper has officially confirmed the launch of its direct overnight train from Brussels to Venice, set to operate in March 2025.

This marks a significant milestone in expanding sustainable rail travel across Europe, allowing passengers to journey seamlessly through the Austrian Alps and Brenner Pass without transfers.

New Route Brings Seamless Overnight Travel to Italy
The new Brussels-Venice night train will operate on:

March 4 and March 12 (Departing from Brussels)
March 8 and March 16 (Returning from Venice)

All journeys will run overnight, with stops in key European cities, including Eindhoven, Cologne, Innsbruck, Bolzano/Bozen, and Verona, before reaching Venice.

This expansion builds on European Sleeper’s initial February departures, which required passengers to change trains in Innsbruck.

The direct route eliminates the need for transfers, ensuring a more comfortable and efficient travel experience for passengers.

European Rail Collaboration: FS Treni Turistici Italiani Joins the Project
To enable this international service, European Sleeper has partnered with FS Treni Turistici Italiani (FS TTI), a certified Italian railway company responsible for traction services within Italy.

The E 402B locomotives, branded in FS TTI livery, will operate the Italian section of the journey, ensuring a smooth and reliable ride across the Brenner Pass.

This partnership highlights the growing collaboration between European rail operators to improve cross-border train connectivity and promote sustainable travel alternatives to short-haul flights.

Sustainable Travel: A Greener Alternative to Flying
The European Union’s Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy actively supports the revival of night trains as a key solution for reducing carbon emissions in transport.

According to the European Environment Agency (EEA), trains emit up to 90% less CO₂ per passenger compared to short-haul flights, making them a crucial component of Europe’s Green Deal objectives.

As part of the EU’s Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) initiative, investments in night trains are expected to enhance rail infrastructure, making international travel by train more accessible, efficient, and attractive to travelers.

European Sleeper’s Commitment to Expanding Night Train Services
European Sleeper has positioned itself as a leader in the night train revival movement, focusing on routes that connect major European cities while offering comfort, affordability, and sustainability. With the successful launch of the Brussels-Venice night service, the company remains committed to expanding its route network across the continent.

Future plans may include additional night train connections between Belgium, Germany, France, and Italy, aligning with the EU’s push for more eco-friendly rail solutions.
