The flag carrier of the UAE, Etihad Airways, has announced an expansion of its Atlanta service, increasing from four-times-weekly flights to daily operations starting November 1, 2024. This decision follows strong demand for the route, which is set to launch on July 2.

The new daily service establishes the first and only direct connection between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Atlanta, operating from Zayed International Airport (AUH) to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).

The route will be served by Etihad’s advanced Airbus A350-1000, featuring 44 Business Class and 327 Economy Class seats.

The increased frequency enhances connectivity between Atlanta and key South Asian destinations, including Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, and Karachi, through seamless single-stop connections.

The expanded service also provides travelers with opportunities to explore Abu Dhabi through stopover visits or extended stays. Economy Class fares start at AED 1,925, while Business Class fares begin at AED 10,010.

Strengthening Presence in Atlanta

Etihad Airways’ growth in Atlanta strengthens its presence in the U.S. market, leveraging the city’s role as a hub for business, technology, and transportation.

Atlanta blends Southern hospitality with modern amenities, offering professional sports venues, craft breweries, diverse dining options, and entertainment attractions. Beyond the city, Georgia boasts historic small towns and varied landscapes, presenting travelers with broader exploration opportunities.

Additionally, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Preclearance facility at Abu Dhabi International Airport streamlines entry processing before departure. This allows passengers to arrive in Atlanta as domestic travelers, bypassing lengthy arrival procedures and proceeding directly to baggage claim or connecting flights.

This expansion aligns with Etihad’s broader network growth strategy, which includes the addition of 13 new global destinations this year.
