To support Emirates Team New Zealand as it prepares to defend its title at the America’s Cup, the Emirates Official Store has unveiled the Neo collection, a limited-edition range of tote bags crafted from sails that have previously sailed in world series, regattas, and America’s Cup competitions since 2011.

The Neo collection will include up to 80 stylish barrel and tote bags made from retired North Sails 3Di fabric, celebrated for its lightweight nature and exceptional durability, making it resistant to stretching and tearing. Each bag is composed of 95% upcycled sails, showcasing a retro aesthetic that incorporates the distinctive colors, stripes, and bold shapes that have become synonymous with Emirates Team New Zealand’s iconic sail designs over the years.

Manufactured entirely by Jasani, a UAE-based company, this collection exemplifies the airline’s ongoing commitment to reducing waste within its operations. It also highlights collaborative efforts with partners like Emirates Team New Zealand to repurpose materials that would otherwise end up in landfills, transforming them into valuable products.

The sails featured in this collection consist of:

A sail from an AC45 that competed in the World Series from 2011 to 2012, leading up to the legendary 2013 America’s Cup in San Francisco.

A sail from an AC50, which was instrumental in Emirates Team New Zealand’s triumph at the 2017 America’s Cup in Bermuda.

A Code 0 sail from an AC75, utilized and tested in preparation for the 36th America’s Cup in 2021, which marked yet another victory for Emirates Team New Zealand.

Emirates introduced its inaugural upcycled collection in 2023 with the launch of “Aircrafted by Emirates.” This exclusive range features products crafted from repurposed materials sourced from retrofitted aircraft, meticulously created on a made-to-order basis by Emirates’ skilled tailors in a specialized cabin workshop located within the airline’s Engineering facility in Dubai.

In the coming months, the airline plans to unveil additional collections of upcycled items from the Neo line.
