Travelers seeking a sun-soaked getaway to Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast now have new flight options. Beginning in May, Electra Airways will introduce direct services from Cologne Bonn Airport to two of Bulgaria’s most popular seaside destinations—Varna and Burgas. The airline will operate twice-weekly flights on each route, catering to both leisure and cultural travelers.

The first service, connecting Cologne Bonn with Varna, will commence on May 17, with flights departing every Tuesday and Saturday. Meanwhile, the Burgas route is set to launch on May 19, with departures scheduled for Mondays and Thursdays. Both flights will offer a convenient journey of approximately two and a half hours.

Varna, known as Bulgaria’s “Sea Capital,” boasts pristine beaches, vibrant nightlife, and a rich historical heritage. One of its standout attractions is the Archaeological Museum, home to the world’s oldest known gold treasure. Visitors can also marvel at the city’s architectural gem, the Assumption Cathedral, or take a relaxing stroll along the picturesque seafront promenade.

Burgas, another coastal jewel, blends relaxation with cultural appeal. The city’s extensive beaches and lively center make it an inviting destination for sun-seekers and explorers alike. Flight Details and Aircraft

Electra Airways will operate these flights using an Airbus A320 in partnership with SunExpress. While Electra Airways provides the aircraft and crew, SunExpress will handle route planning and ticket sales.

The flight schedule from Cologne Bonn is as follows:

• Varna: Departures at 17:25 on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
• Burgas: Departures at 12:10 on Mondays and 19:00 on Thursdays.
