Dubai’s ambitious Therme Dubai project is set to redefine wellness tourism, blending culture, sustainability, and innovation into a one-of-a-kind urban retreat.
As part of Dubai’s commitment to enhancing community well-being, this transformative development aligns with the UAE’s Year of the Community initiative. The announcement ceremony saw the presence of senior dignitaries, including Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai.
Rooted in the vision of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, the project aims to foster healthier communities and attract international investment. The master plan was presented to Sheikh Hamdan by Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Supreme Urban Planning Committee and Director General of the Roads and Transport Authority.
At the core of Therme Dubai is a commitment to medical tourism, offering an extensive range of health and wellness services. By merging relaxation, therapy, and recreation, the development will cater to visitors seeking holistic well-being while enhancing the quality of life for Dubai’s residents.
The design, crafted by the globally renowned architectural firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro, integrates cutting-edge sustainable engineering. The resort will recycle 90% of the water used in its thermal pools, while 80% of its air and cooling needs will be sourced from clean energy. Additionally, the space will function as a cultural hub, showcasing immersive art from around the world.
Therme Dubai will be divided into three key zones, each catering to different wellness experiences. The Play Zone will feature engaging activities for families, incorporating entertainment and health-focused elements. The Relax Zone will offer tranquil indoor and outdoor thermal pools, steam rooms, and natural treatments infused with mineral-rich water. The Restore Zone will serve as a rejuvenation sanctuary, providing saunas, steam rooms, and innovative hydrotherapy experiences.
Nature and water will be central to the design, fostering a greener urban space that promotes well-being. The development will feature the world’s largest indoor botanical garden, home to over 200 plant species, creating a thriving ecosystem within the heart of the city. Guests can immerse themselves in mineral pools, multi-sensory saunas, and therapeutic baths inspired by global traditions, including Roman, Turkish, Japanese, and Nordic wellness rituals.
To enhance the visitor experience, the resort will incorporate hundreds of interactive water and art activities, leveraging advanced technology to create a unique and immersive atmosphere.
