Downtown Frederick Partnership is thrilled to welcome back Fire In Ice, the highly anticipated winter celebration that has become a signature event as part of February First Saturday. This annual two-day extravaganza transforms Downtown Frederick into a breathtaking winter wonderland, featuring over 120 stunning ice sculptures, thrilling fire performances, and interactive activities for all ages.
The festivities kick off Friday, January 31, setting the stage for a weekend filled with winter magic. Visitors can witness a live ice carving demonstration at Everedy Square & Shab Row from 6 PM – 9 PM, sponsored by Brothers Services Company. Adding to the excitement, Pyrophoric’s fiery performances will light up the Carroll Creek Amphitheater at 7 PM and 8 PM, courtesy of Renewal by Andersen. For those eager to get in on the action, the Ice Games Center at 331 N Market Street will be open from 6 PM – 9 PM, offering engaging, family-friendly games. Guests can also cozy up at the Polar Lounge (15 E 6th Street), open during the same hours, where two impressive fire towers create a warm and inviting atmosphere, thanks to Precision for Medicine.
The excitement continues Saturday, February 1, with an all-day lineup of events. From 11 AM – 9 PM, visitors can embark on the Ice Walk, a self-guided journey showcasing over 120 masterfully sculpted ice displays spread throughout Downtown Frederick. The Polar Lounge and Ice Games Center will remain open, offering fun and warmth throughout the day.
