Delhi-Dehradun
Expressway

A 3.5 km section of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, spanning from Daat Kali to Asharodi, is now fully operational with all six lanes open for traffic. This development significantly boosts connectivity between the two cities. Equipped with underpasses, road overbridges (ROBs), and pedestrian foot over bridges, the expressway aims to streamline travel, minimize congestion, and enhance overall road safety. Additionally, the upgraded infrastructure is expected to cut down travel time, making journeys smoother and more efficient.

The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway has reached a major milestone with the full operational launch of a crucial 3.5 km stretch between Daat Kali and Asharodi. Previously limited to three lanes, the section now accommodates six lanes, ensuring smoother and more efficient travel.

Key Highlights:

  • Enhanced Connectivity: The newly opened stretch plays a vital role in improving links between Delhi and Dehradun, reducing congestion and facilitating faster commutes.
  • Expressway Overview: Covering a total distance of 31.6 km, the expressway is engineered for reduced travel time and heightened road safety.
  • Advanced Infrastructure: The project integrates 7 underpasses, 2 Railway Over Bridges (ROBs), and a network of 17 major and 37 minor junctions, optimizing traffic flow and minimizing bottlenecks.

With these upgrades, the expressway is set to transform regional connectivity, offering a seamless and safer journey for commuters.

Key Features of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway

Pedestrian Safety with Foot Over Bridges

To ensure the safety of pedestrians, especially students and daily commuters, the expressway will be equipped with strategically placed foot over bridges. These structures will provide a secure way to cross the road without disrupting traffic flow, reducing the risk of accidents.

Ongoing Development in Two Phases

The expressway is being constructed in two distinct sections:

  • First Section: Spanning 14.75 km, this phase is being developed at a cost of INR 1,100 crore.
  • Second Section: Covering 16.85 km, this segment has a budget of INR 1,323 crore.

Leading infrastructure firms, M/s Ganwar Construction and M/s Gayatri Construction, are overseeing the construction of these sections, ensuring top-notch execution.

Elevated Sections for Seamless Traffic Flow

Two strategically designed 200-meter elevated stretches are incorporated into the expressway. These sections, positioned between Ganeshpur and Mohand town and extending toward the Daat Kali Tunnel, will help eliminate traffic congestion and enhance driving comfort, ensuring a hassle-free travel experience.

A Game-Changer for Connectivity

The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is set to revolutionize travel between the two cities, drastically cutting down commute times and providing a safer, more efficient roadway. With a comprehensive infrastructure that includes underpasses, foot over bridges, and elevated sections, this project is a major leap forward in regional transportation.

Upon completion, the expressway will not only enhance daily commutes for thousands of travelers but also mark a significant milestone in modernizing the region’s infrastructure.
