Cyprus-Greece ferry
service

The Cyprus-Greece ferry service will begin its 2025 season on May 31, with bookings opening on April 2, following a successful extension and growing demand.

The Cyprus-Greece ferry service is set to run for its fourth consecutive year, with the Cyprus-flagged Daleela vessel scheduled to begin its 2025 season on May 31 from Limassol port, maritime officials have announced.

Bookings for this popular route will open on April 2, with the final journey from Piraeus port planned for September 2, 2025. Officials have noted a significant increase in passenger demand compared to previous seasons.

This continuation follows the approval of a three-year extension of the contract with Scandro Holding Ltd, signed by Cyprus’s Council of Ministers in August 2024, maintaining the same terms for the 2025-2027 period.

Economic and Tourism Impact of the Cyprus-Greece Ferry Link
The ferry service has opened a new avenue in Cyprus’s domestic tourism market, particularly for travelers wanting to transport private vehicles and motorcycles between the two nations. It has also proven popular with students who need to move belongings and those preferring a more leisurely journey instead of flying.

In its first three years of operation, the service has carried:

  • 22,582 passengers
  • 7,641 vehicles
  • 772 pets

Officials confirmed that the 2025 season will see only a modest price increase of approximately one euro, while bicycle transport will remain free of charge. Last year, one-way first-class four-berth cabin tickets were priced at 63 euros ($68), with round-trip tickets at 126 euros ($137). Second-class tickets were 50 euros ($54) one-way and 96 euros ($104) for a round trip. Airline-style seats were available for 38 euros ($41) one way and 76 euros ($82) round trip.

Long-Term Sustainability of the Service
Hadjimanoli expressed optimism regarding the long-term sustainability of the ferry route, stressing that the maritime industry hopes to continue the service beyond the subsidized period once it concludes.
