Condor partners with Deutsche Bahn for eco-friendly travel from Frankfurt and beyond
Condor Airlines has reinforced its commitment to sustainable and seamless travel by deepening its partnership with Deutsche Bahn (DB). Alongside the relaunch of domestic flights from Frankfurt to major German cities like Berlin and Hamburg, this collaboration ensures greater travel convenience while promoting greener mobility.
As of March 20, 2025, Condor has expanded its integration with DB, allowing long-haul passengers to combine air and rail travel more effortlessly. Travelers can now select tailored train connections from 21 cities across Germany when booking international flights. The upgraded service includes perks such as reserved seating at no extra cost, coordinated transfers between train and plane, and lounge access for Business Class customers at DB stations.
This initiative is a significant step in Condor’s journey toward reducing its environmental footprint. All DB long-distance routes are powered entirely by renewable energy, aligning perfectly with Condor’s sustainability strategy. Major cities like Munich, Cologne, Düsseldorf, and Berlin now enjoy enhanced connectivity to Frankfurt Airport, with a new link from Dresden to Berlin Brandenburg Airport supporting flights to destinations like Dubai.
In a strong move back into Germany’s domestic aviation scene, Condor resumed scheduled flights from Frankfurt to Berlin and Hamburg on March 1, 2025. The first flight to Berlin, DE409, took off at 10:30 AM, shortly followed by flight DE4179 to Hamburg at 10:45 AM.
To support its environmentally conscious operations, Condor has introduced fuel-efficient aircraft into its fleet, including the Airbus A320neo and A321neo. These planes, powered by next-generation Pratt & Whitney engines, consume 20% less fuel than previous models. Additionally, the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) significantly boosts Condor’s efforts toward more responsible air travel.
