China, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Turkey, UAE, Uzbekistan, and Armenia emerged as Aeroflot’s top travel destinations in 2024, showcasing unprecedented growth in passenger demand from Russia.
Aeroflot has unveiled the fastest-growing travel destinations based on passenger numbers for 2024. The data reflects operations on Aeroflot’s own flights as well as those of Rossiya Airlines, both operating under the SU code.
Passenger traffic from Aeroflot Group’s Siberian hub reached new heights in 2024, with remarkable growth rates. The route between Krasnoyarsk and Ekaterinburg saw a 140% surge in passengers, while the Krasnoyarsk-Tashkent route experienced a staggering 187% increase.
In the domestic sector, key routes from Sheremetyevo Airport recorded significant growth. Top-performing destinations included Penza, Grozny, Kirovsk, Kemerovo, and Kaliningrad. Additionally, passenger numbers rose sharply on routes connecting Sochi to Chelyabinsk and Ekaterinburg, as well as Moscow to Gorno-Altaysk and Chelyabinsk.
Internationally, the most dynamic growth was observed on routes such as Moscow to Guangzhou, Sharm El Sheikh, Karaganda, Colombo, and Bodrum; Saint Petersburg to Dubai; and Krasnoyarsk to Almaty. These routes highlighted a robust increase in passenger demand for global travel in 2024.
