
The Global Wellness Institute (GWI), a leading nonprofit focused on research and education in the global wellness industry, has unveiled new data highlighting Canada’s flourishing wellness economy. With a growth rate of 7.3% from 2019 to 2023, Canada ranks among the top ten fastest-growing wellness economies worldwide. Valued at $143.8 billion in 2023, it has surpassed its pre-pandemic size in 2019 by 33%.
The 2025 report is accessible on GWI’s Geography of Wellness platform, thanks to an ongoing collaboration with Blueprint Global, a global leader in luxury real estate envisioning, master planning, marketing, sales, and hospitality execution.

The newly released Global Wellness Economy: Canada report is now available for download on the GWI website. The report reveals that Canada excels in several sectors, ranking among the top ten globally. These include $11.5 billion in mental wellness (#3), $1.9 billion in workplace wellness (#6), $19.5 billion in public health, prevention & personalized medicine (#6), $13.3 billion in wellness real estate (#8), $24.5 billion in physical activity (#8), $11.6 billion in traditional and complementary medicine (#8), and $25.8 billion in healthy eating (#9).
