Batik Air

Batik Air has announced the launch of its inaugural flight between Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang, and Kota Kinabalu International Airport (BKI), marking a significant milestone in expanding Malaysia’s domestic air connectivity.

This new daily service is now the third destination from Subang, following successful routes to Penang and Kota Bharu, according to Tourism Malaysia.

The inaugural flight was celebrated with a water salute and a reception attended by Tourism Malaysia officials, including Nadia Hanim Muhamad @ Mansor, Deputy Director of the Domestic & Events Division, alongside representatives from Batik Air.

The route aligns with government efforts to enhance domestic tourism and strengthen regional ties.

In addition, Batik Air has officially launched direct flights between Kota Kinabalu and Tawau, significantly reducing travel time from an eight-hour land journey to under an hour by air.

These new routes support Tourism Malaysia’s goals to promote seamless travel, bolster local tourism, and provide greater convenience for both residents and visitors exploring Sabah’s cultural and natural attractions.
