The Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) is actively engaging with the Pakistani market by participating in the Pakistan Travel Mart (PTM) 2025, held at the Expo Centre Karachi from January 31 to February 2, and the subsequent PTM Roadshow in Islamabad on February 4-5. Azerbaijan is also taking part in the Sustainable Tourism Forum, organized by the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD). These initiatives enhance Azerbaijan’s visibility in Pakistan, emphasizing its vibrant cultural heritage, wide-ranging tourism offerings, and easy access as a top travel destination.

At PTM, ATB is joined by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) and six prominent co-exhibitors to highlight the nation’s UNESCO-listed sites, breathtaking landscapes, and contemporary attractions. The “Experience Azerbaijan” stand offers visitors a chance to explore famous landmarks like Baku’s Old City, the Gobustan Rock Art, Sheki’s Historic Centre, as well as the newly added Khinalig village and Köç Yolu Transhumance Route. Azerbaijan offers a broad range of travel experiences, including skiing in the Caucasus, luxurious wellness retreats, and cultural exploration, cementing its position as a premium, family-friendly destination. During the event, Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, participated in a panel titled “Redefining Destinations: Sustainable Tourism for a Resilient Future.”

In addition to PTM, ATB took part in the Sustainable Tourism Forum organized by the ICCD, an arm of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Mr. Sengstschmid spoke at the “CEO’s Insights: Sustainable Tourism Destinations – Opportunities for the Private Sector” panel, discussing sustainable tourism development and Azerbaijan’s key strategies in this field.

For Pakistani travelers, Azerbaijan is easily accessible with direct flights from Islamabad and Lahore to Baku, courtesy of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL). Flights to Karachi are scheduled to resume in May 2025. Pakistani citizens can also apply for an e-VISA through evisa.gov.az, with processing time as short as three days, or opt for an urgent visa processed in just 3 to 5 hours, ensuring a smooth journey.

Azerbaijan offers Pakistani visitors a safe and family-oriented destination where ancient culture blends seamlessly with modern luxury. Whether it’s cultural exploration, nature getaways, wellness, or adventure, Azerbaijan—a unique crossroads of East and West—promises to captivate and inspire.

By participating in PTM 2025, the Azerbaijan Tourism Board reaffirms its dedication to strengthening relationships within the Pakistani travel sector and warmly invites travelers to explore its rich history, diverse experiences, and renowned hospitality.
